Criss Angel is known around the world for his magic and illusions, but a little-known fact is that Criss has been involved in charitable causes for the majority of his career. Criss is actively involved in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Make-A-Wish, where he has granted more than 50 wishes for children. But perhaps the most philanthropic endeavor that is his very own charity. What started as the BELIEVE Charity Foundation in 2007 as a tribute to his father, John Sarantakos, who passed away from stomach cancer in 1998, evolved into the BELIEVE "Anything Is Possible" –a JDS Foundation charity. When Criss Angel's son Johnny Crisstopher was diagnosed with leukemia, the charity took a new turn and was renamed the Johnny Crisstopher Children’s Charitable Foundation in honor of his son and all the children fighting the horrible disease of cancer.
To shed light on the plight of children's cancer and to spread awareness of how vastly underfunded children's cancer research and treatment options are, Criss Angel hosted an impressive gala called H.E.L.P. or Heal Every Life Possible, in 2016. The event was attended by many celebrities ranging from Dee Snider to Tony Orlando to Jerry Lewis, and raised over 1 million dollars to date to provide research, treatment, and someday, a cure, for pediatric cancer.
The fight continues, and you can #HELP find a cure for childhood cancer by donating to Criss Angel's charity either in person at the Luxor Hotel & Casino at #MindfreakLIVE, or online by going to Criss Angel HELP. 100% of your donation will be used to directly impact research activities, treatments, and the search for a cure.
