The Cast of BeLIEve

Criss Angel Believe™ has a unique and varied cast of characters, from the mysterious and magical to the humorous and comical!

Since the show's 2008 debut, certain members of the cast have had significant role changes, and some characters have been reduced or cut from the show completely. All characters, past and presented, are represented below. The show, of course, centers around magician Criss Angel himself.

Criss Angel

Criss Angel is the show's creator and star. Believe is Criss Angel's magical vision that has been a work in progress for over 15 years.

Criss is the designer of the 40+ illusions seen throughout the show, and he is the director of the show as well. The illusions are presented on stage in a way that they have never been presented before -- there are no "traditional" curtains, boxes, or anything of the sort -- something that Criss Angel is very proud of. The illusions are state of the art and will wow and astound you!

To date, Criss has never once missed a performance of Believe, performing even when ill or injured. That's dedication!

The Ushers

The ushers -- Maestro, Luigi, Slim, and Lars -- are the comedic relief of the show. They often interact with the audience and try to do magic of their own, leading to unexpected and humorous results -- especially Maestro.

The character of Maestro has evolved since the show's 2008 debut, and he now plays a more central role in the show as Criss Angel's side kick.

Kayala

Kayala is the central female character of the show. She is beautiful, innocent, and is often seen wearing white.

When the show premiered, the role of Kayala was primarily as Criss' love interest. Her grand entrance was in a giant red poppy flower where she performed impressive acrobatics. Kayala was also featured in an impressive wedding scene demonstration, where she wore a magificent wedding gown, with a train extending to the ceiling; Criss "walked down" this train. Kayala being Criss' "love interest" was dropped from the show, and she now assists Criss with various illusions and demonstrations.

Crimson

Crimson is another central female character of the show -- the exact opposite of Kayala. While Kayala was seen and pure and innocent, Crimson was dark and evil.

When the show premiered, the role of Crimson was to find and destroy Criss. Throughout the show, she was seen in various illusions, but Criss would always find a way to escape her evil clutches. At the end of the show, Crimson succeeded by capturing Criss and sawing him in half, killing him. The idea of Crimson being an "evil" character was dropped, and she now she assists Criss with various illusions and demonstrations.

Crowmen

The crowmen were one of the central animal characters in the show. They would appear in various illusions that Criss Angel would perform.

Today they have a much minor role, but they still make an appearance in the show.

Discontinued Characters

The Dolls

The dolls appeared in one illusion towards the beginning of the show, and briefly at the end of the show as well; they had elaborate costumes and their image was used for early promotional materials for BeLIEve.

To make room for more illusions in the show, the dolls were completely cut from the show, and no longer make an appearance.

"Homage to the Rabbits"

Towards the beginning of the show, a group of rabbits did a dance routine referred to as "Homage to the Rabbits." It was the rabbits revenge on people, due to their mistreatment by magicians over the years, and the rabbits took their anger out on Criss. Even today it is difficult for me to understand why this scene was cut, because it was a great part of Believe, but it was cut, most likely to make room for new illusions, and the routine is no longer in the show. Some rabbits still make an appearance in the show, mainly the ones with evil red eyes.
